A Case of Double Ureter with Megaloureter

Abstract
Duplication of the ureters occurs frequently, but a congenital double ureter with megaloureter is rather rare and has difficulty in diagnosis.
This 3 year old female was admitted due to long lasting fever and abdominal distension for 16 month¢¥s duration. She also had paraplegia for 14 months, She was performed exploratory laparotomy due to markedly laterally displaced and distorted left renal pelvis and ureter, and was found to have hydronephrosis and megaloureter. She was performed adhesiolysis of distal periureteral fibrotic tissue on first operation resulting in successful decompression of hydronephrosis.
But her symptoms recurred on 9th postoperative day.
She was performed 2nd operation on 21st postoperative day and was performed left nephrouretectomy with good result.
She was found to have incidental paraplegia due to poliomyelitis and active minimal pulmonary tuberculosis.
